to the Nærøyfjord, part of the Sognefjord on the UNESCO world heritage list for its unique natural beauty. Steep mountains and free-flowing waterfalls are complemented by small farms and wooden buildings. This fjord arm is a good place to see animals, including seals and eagles.
This tour covers 60 km, more than a quarter of the Sognefjord. You start at the Balestrand Tourist Information Office, near the harbor. Here you will be met by your guide, and you will be given a flotation suit and life jacket. Before the tour starts, safety instructions are given onboard. You pass four small villages on the way to the Nærøyfjord, through one of the most productive fruit-growing areas in Norway. Along the way you pass many waterfalls and make short stops near Fimreite, the site of a Viking battle, and in Bakkasundet, the narrowest part of the Nærøyfjord.
Let us know if you need to catch the 11:55 express boat to Flåm.
